Vaccines

Core Canine Vaccines 

Rabies vaccine- This Vaccine is required by law. Must be 12 weeks of age to receive this vaccine and is good for 1 year and then boostered every 3 years.

1 year Distemper combination vaccine- Must be 6 weeks of age or older to receive this vaccine and boostered every 4 weeks until the are 14 weeks old.

*NEW* 3 year Distemper combination vaccine- Must be 2 years of age or older WITH PREVIOUS RECORD of distemper combination vaccine to receive this vaccine. 

Optional Canine Vaccines 

Bordetella vaccine- Must be 3 weeks of age or older to receive this vaccine. This vaccine is given intranasally (we do have an injectable version of this vaccine for fractious or difficult dogs and an oral version for brachycephalic dogs). This vaccine is recommended for dogs that will be boarded, going to puppy /training classes or the groomer. 

Lyme vaccine- Must be 9 weeks of age or older to receive this vaccine. Lyme vaccine is a 2 part series. The booster is done at a 2-3 week interval. Once the series is completed, this is a once yearly vaccine. Even when using the Lyme vaccine, Flea and tick prevention is still recommended. Ticks carry other other diseases that the Lyme vaccine does not protect against.

Leptospirosis vaccine- Must be 9 weeks of age or older to receive this vaccine. Leptospirosis vaccine is a 2 part series. The booster is done at a 2-3 week interval. Once the series is completed, this is boostered yearly. Leptospirosis is a bacteria that is transmitted through urine from animals such as Raccoons, Skunks and Squirrels. This vaccine is recommended for dogs that drink out of mud puddles or hunting dogs that spend long periods of time in swamps, ponds or marshes.

Core Feline Vaccines 

FVRCP- This is commonly referred to as the “Feline Distemper”  Must be 6 weeks of age or older to receive this vaccine. FVRCP is a 2 part series and is boostered at the 3-4 week mark. Once the series is complete, this vaccine is boostered yearly. 

Rabies vaccine- This Vaccine is required by law. Must be 12 weeks of age to receive this vaccine and is good for 1 year and then boostered every 3 years.

Feline Leukemia Vaccine- This is a 2 part series that is boostered 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccine. Once the series is completed, this vaccine is boostered yearly. This vaccine is recommended for outdoor cats or cats that live in a house with multiple cats.
